These 2-Day, hands-on seminars that will enhance your ability to treat the 3 most common pain patterns that you see regularly in your practice. Advanced Technique Seminar Series 

The Advanced Technique Seminar Series presents a more precise and targeted approach, and creates and experience in which you will learn a whole new philosophy of treatment.

  • You will develop a new found intuition and enhance your ability to effectively respond to what you feel (Tissue Talk).
  • You will expand your massage therapy tool box with techniques that can be immediately incorporated into your existing treatment protocol.
  • You will help your clients achieve more complete and longer lasting results and consistently create more client satisfaction, retention and referrals.
  • You will feel more confident and empowered with your expertise and become the therapist that clients are lining up to see.

1. Advanced Techniques for Low Back & Hip

Particular attention will be given to the treatment of the iliopsoas complex and the QL’s,. Lengthening the hip flexors, and correcting pelvic imbalances, is vital to the successful treatment of many chronic lower back pain patterns and dysfunctions.

In this workshop the therapist will learn:

  • An integrative treatment approach that employs a variety of therapeutic protocols designed to successfully address common lower back and hip pain and dysfunction.
  • How to perform a movement analysis of the hip and apply PNF stretching.
  • Assessment and correction of common structural imbalances of the pelvis.

Therapeutic treatment techniques for:

  • Thoraco-lumbar fascia
  • QL’s and spinal erectors
  • Sacral ligaments
  • Iliopsoas Complex
  • Piriformis, gluteus minimus and medius,
  • TFL and IT band
  • Hamstrings
  • Rehab stretching and strengthening

2. Advanced Techniques for Neck & Upper Back

Particular attention will be given to side-lying treatment techniques. This positioning opens up the entire angle of the neck and gives you complete access to the cervical muscles, as well as the upper back and chest regions. It also puts less strain on your body, and it’s easier for your client to stay relaxed.

In this workshop the therapist will learn:

An integrative treatment approach that employs a variety of therapeutic protocols designed to successfully address common cervical and upper back pain patterns and dysfunctions.

  • Movement analysis of the neck
  • Common pathologies involved in neck pain
  • Contraindications to treatment

Therapeutic treatment techniques for:

  • Upper trapezius, levator scapulae, and rhomboids
  • Scalenes, SCM, and longus colli
  • Posterior cervicals, suboccipitals, splenius capitis and cervicis
  • Atlanto-occipital release
  • Pectoralis minor and first rib release
  • Rehab stretching and strengthening

3. Advanced Techniques for Shoulder/Rotator Cuff

The shoulder can be a very challenging joint to treat because it is designed to have maximum movement potential, and relatively little stability. Particular attention will be given to a movement analysis that determines the areas of primary restriction, and a treatment protocol that is designed to restore mobility and decrease pain.

In this workshop the therapist will learn:

An integrative treatment approach that employs a variety of therapeutic protocols designed to successfully address common soft tissue restrictions in the shoulder/rotator cuff complex.

  • Common pathologies associated with shoulder pain patterns.
  • Contraindications to treatment of the shoulder complex.
  • Scapular imbalances and mobilization.
  • Passive and active range of motion assessment.

Therapeutic treatment techniques for:

  • Rotator cuff complex.
  • Pectoralis major and minor
  • Deltoids
  • Bicep tendon
  • Latissimus dorsi and teres major.
  • Triceps
  • Rehabilitative stretching/strengthening program.
