Cheryl has inspired thousands of RMT’s across Western Canada, with her Live Seminar Programs, and is now excited to expand her circle of influence with an online video training program called Tissue Talk.
The Tissue Talk series provides step-by-step video demonstrations of Therapeutic Techniques and Rehabilitative Exercises for the 3 most critical problem areas.
Tissue Talk is designed for the therapist to view, and then take into their treatment room to practice. The therapist can then, “play” with the techniques, and have the video training modules available to them for ongoing learning and integration.
Cheryl is committed to promoting excellence in therapeutic massage. She knows from her clinical experience, education, and training, what works and what doesn’t work. She is passionate about passing on all that she knows to support both new and experienced Massage Therapy Professionals.
Perfect Balance Seminars was formed in 2000 as an extension of Cheryl Stephenson’s passion for providing Advanced Massage Therapy services and education. The company has been founded based on over 35 years of experience in the field, a keen observation of what is currently missing in massage therapy education, and a desire to support the profession. In addition to a background in teaching, education, and years of in-the-trenches experience as a Registered Massage Therapist and a clinic owner, Cheryl brings a fresh perspective to providing a high caliber of results-oriented training.
Knowledge is one of the most valuable and powerful assets to possess in one’s career. It provides you with a foundation of confidence and competence from which to build a successful business. Cheryl believes that you never stop learning, and is a lifelong learner herself.
“When you stop learning, you stop growing,
When you stop growing, you stop thriving.”
Cheryl also believes that learning should be both fun, and challenging. She strives to provide a supportive, dynamic educational environment that allows for stress-free learning while also challenging experienced therapists to sharpen their therapeutic skills and expand their knowledge.
And perhaps most important of all – Perfect Balance Seminars provides one-on-one guidance in a hands-on learning experience. Cheryl’s goal is to provide you with a fresh approach that will expand your technique repertoire and inspire creativity. Expanding your therapeutic tool box, will help you become a problem solver, and give you the ability to develop a treatment plan that is as unique as each patient and each problem.
Techniques are easily incorporated into your existing treatment style. You will start making a positive change in your practice the day after you attend your first Perfect Balance Seminar.

Our Students Say It Best
Mandie McLeary (Cochrane) Thank you so much for an action packed weekend! I feel like I’m looking through new eyes and I feel so much more confident in my profession. Your techniques have absolutely given me the skill I need to truly assist my clients, and for that I am forever grateful! I can’t wait to attend the next seminar.
Theressa McKay (Lacombe)
All RMTs who understand the value of what you’re offering will be benefit greatly! I have used the techniques that you teach, and they work wonders! If I were to hire any other RMT’s at the clinic, I would insist that they have certificates from your courses. That would ensure me that they are serious about their work and that they have been taught valuable massage techniques.
Sandra Frissell (Wainright) Yippee! Tissue Talk worked! Already watched one! Awesome Cheryl. Amazing how much I forget as soon as I leave one of your workshops!! This is gong to be very helpful. Thank you.
Michelle Keeley (Calgray) I have taken three of Cheryl’s weekend seminars so far. They are great! Each seminar is jam packed with everything from a quick review, assessments, conditions, new techniques and stretches. Her course manuals, and on-line tissue talk videos are what I refer to most in my practice. These are, by far, the best massage therapy courses I have taken.
Joanna Romanuk (Sherwood Park) It was so beneficial to learn from someone with so much experience. Thanks!
Sabrina Taylor (Edmonton) Cheryl’s seminar was fun, informative, and just all around awesome! I’m looking forward to doing more seminars with you.
Gail Marie Code (Whitecourt) Thank you so very much Cheryl. We are lucky to have you here so accessible to us. I got way more benefit from the seminar than I expected. Great value for the time and money spent.
